Responsible Fisheries Specification
The Iceland Responsible Fisheries logo indicates the Icelandic origin of fish caught in Icelandic waters using responsible fisheries management.
It refers to Icelandic origin and to the Statement on Responsible Fisheries in Iceland. The logo provides opportunities for stakeholders in the value chain of Icelandic seafood to highlight the Icelandic origin of their produce.
Sustainable and responsible fisheries management in Iceland is of fundamental importance as fisheries are one of the main pillars of the Icelandic economy. The seafood industry is meeting the demands of seafood buyers for the sustainable use of marine resources with the Iceland Responsible Fisheries programme, which was developed on the basis of commitments made through national law and international agreements.
